It has a unique scoring system, for instance you would call out the score 4,3,2 with the first number being your score, the second number being the opponents score, and the third number being the server.
Pickleball is played with a wiffle style plastic ball with up to 40 holes in it. The varying kinds of balls people play with make it a game where you have to adapt to the ball, elements, and court.
Indoor pickle balls have 26 holes and outdoor balls have the 40 holes mentioned above. There are unique terms like the kitchen (which you cannot volley while standing in), dinking, and being pickled.
The paddles are similar to ping pong paddles, but larger and with longer handles. They are light up to about 8.7 ounces and are made from various material from composites, wood, or graphite.
There are many paddle manufacturers and costs range from $19.99 to over $200.00 and basically is a very personal choice of which paddle is best. I currently play with a Pro Kennex Pro Flight and just love it!
