5 Ingredient Banana Bread – Easy to Make – Keto Friendly – Lower in Carbs and Delicious
5 Ingredient Banana Bread
This is not a new recipe it is just one I have come to love because it tastes delicious and is very easy to make. Just 5 ingredients to make great banana bread.
The first thing you should do is preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Now I bake this at close to sea level and it takes about 55-60 minutes. Other altitudes may need additional time. I recommend that after 45 minutes you should check the bake with the toothpick method as sometimes cooking times vary.

Next gather the necessary ingredients and believe me there are not many. So this part is easy. The bananas need to be ripe – so make sure they have sat around a while and are as ripe as you can stand. I cannot overstate this, the riper the better. Also nuts are optional, I have used walnuts, almonds, and pecans. By far pecans are my favorite.
Here is a list of the ingredients you will need:
- 3 over ripe medium bananas
- 2 cups of level almond flour – Why I use Almond Flour
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp of baking soda
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- optional – nuts of your choice I use a 1/2 cup of pecans or walnuts, toasted of course
I have come to like the almond flour from Costco, it is reasonably priced for a large bag and tastes great. High quality ingredients will lead to a better tasting bread in the end.

Add all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl, except for the nuts. Make sure the bowl is large enough to mix the ingredients in without them flying all over as you mix them.
I use a hand mixer but a stand mixer would work just as fine. I like the ability to move around the bowl and get the mix to a better consistency. Mix it until very smooth like cake batter.
OPTIONAL STEP: next if you like, toast nuts of your choice in the oven (I like either walnuts or pecans), then finely chop them, let them cool down a bit, and then add them to the banana bread mixture.

Use a spatula to mix them in. Again I use pecans or walnuts as they taste the best to me in this recipe for banana bread. Of course if you use nuts then this will become six ingredient banana bread.
Next liberally spray a bread pan with non-stick spray, or use parchment paper. Either works well but lately I have been using parchment paper as it is easier to clean up.
Next, spoon the mixture in with the spatula (I use a spatula because it allows me to get all the mixture into the pan).
And now just pop it into the oven which should be heated to a nice 350 degrees, and bake it for 45 to 55 minutes. Use the toothpick method to check if it is done.
When finished remove and put on a cooling rack to cool, this is where using the parchment paper will allow you to remove it from the baking dish so it doesn’t cook further.
Once cooled I usually put it into tin foil and refrigerate it. I slice off a piece each night for a great end of the day treat. I can get 10-12 slices per loaf. You can top it with sugar free jam, peanut butter, or dark chocolate.
CONCLUSION
This 5 ingredient banana bread is easy to bake and it really does taste great. It will be high in calories but as you can see it has very few ingredients and will be keto friendly. You can also add quite a few different things to liven up the bread like chocolate chips, peanut butter chips or swirls of peanut butter. So try this recipe out and you wont be disappointed.
